Hands-on: Women, Climate, Change

Partners

Hands-on: Women, Climate, Change was a collaborative documentary produced by Liz Miller in coordination with the International Association of Women in Radio and Television (IAWRT). She asked four directors from four continents (all members of IAWRT) to each create a ten-minute segment. She then edited the segments and put them together into a single film to be used by climate activists and organizers. The directors were paid for their segments but each director kept the rights to their raw material. The directors also maintained the right to distribute their short segments on their own after the launch of the collaborative film. As the lead producer, Miller was in charge of organizing the outreach. The decision to have a non-exclusive distribution strategy was based on the shared aim to ensure that the material was screened in as many venues as possible.
